Access to this resource is now available to the Rhodes University community.

BioOne is a nonprofit publisher that aims to make scientific research more accessible through a growing portfolio of products including its full-text aggregation, BioOne Complete, and open-access journal, Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene. Established in 1999 by five founding organization—the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS), the Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC), The University of Kansas, the Greater Western Library Alliance (GWLA), and Allen Press, Inc—BioOne serves a community of over 140 society and institutional publishers, 4,000 accessing institutions, and millions of researchers worldwide.
BioOne Complete™
BioOne Complete is BioOne's aggregation of more than 180 high quality, subscribed and open-access titles focused in the biological, ecological, and environmental sciences.  For subscribing libaries, BioOne Complete offers a cost-effective, curated collection of independently-published journals. Nearly three-quarters of the aggregation's titles are ranked by Thomson Reuters' Journal Citation Reports, and 45% are available online exclusively through BioOne participation.
For its nonprofit publishing participants—societies, associations, museums, research institutions, and university presses—the BioOne aggregation offers a dynamic platform, cohort affiliation, and an ancillary annual revenue stream from aggregated sales. Since 2001, BioOne has returned over 27 million dollars to its nonprofit publishers, helping them remain financially sustainable and editorially independent.

VAST: Academic Video Online

VAST: Academic Video Online is Alexander Street’s flagship video subscription, delivering key video that touches on the undergraduate curriculum needs of virtually every department. VAST is growing to more than 20,000 full video titles (not just clips) in 2013 and currently offers well over 9,000 hours of content. VAST is designed to bring the highest-quality video content to the broadest range of subject areas. Water Resources Research : Access to this interdisciplinary journal now available

Thanks to a subscription motivation in 2012 from IWR and the Geography Dept, (strongly supported by the Library), Rhodes researchers may now access the content of Water Resources Research, an interdisciplinary journal that publishes original research in the natural and social sciences of water.

This includes the role of water in the physical, chemical, biological, and ecological sciences; public health; and related social and policy sciences. It encompasses methodological development of observational, experimental, theoretical, analytical, numerical, and data driven approaches that advance the science of water and its management.

Valuable addition to Rhodes Library e-resources - Annual Reviews: Biomedical & Life Sciences

In additon to Annual Reviews in "Astronomy & Astrophysics" and "Anthropology", Rhodes users now have access to all titles in the Annual Reviews: Biomedical & Life Sciences section, several of these from vol. 1.
